Introducing the Zebra® Iris GTX, an advanced smart camera tailored for machine vision and deep learning edge IoT applications. Developed by Aurora Imaging, this cutting-edge device takes smart cameras to the next level, offering faster processing power and higher-resolution sensors compared to its predecessors. The Zebra Iris GTX is a compact all-in-one vision system that delivers exceptional performance. With the user-friendly Aurora Design Assistant® software, previously known as Matrox Design Assistant (DA), engineers and technicians can swiftly configure and deploy machine vision applications directly to the Zebra Iris GTX smart cameras.

The Zebra Iris GTX smart cameras are equipped with a range of powerful capabilities, including video capture, analysis, classification, location, measurement, reading, verification, communication, and I/O operations. Additionally, they feature a web-based operator interface, all within the same software environment. These smart cameras act as model edge IoT devices, enabling data acquisition and analytics closest to the manufacturing process, ensuring consistent and timely response for guidance and inspection tasks.

At the heart of the Zebra Iris GTX is an Intel® Atom® x6000 series embedded processor, enabling the use of faster, higher-resolution image sensors and facilitating both traditional machine vision workloads and deep learning inference. Moreover, the smart cameras come with real-time digital I/Os, allowing seamless integration with automation devices. The inclusion of GigE and USB ports, along with a VGA video output, ensures full compatibility and easy integration within any automation cell or machine.

Designed to thrive in challenging industrial environments, the Zebra Iris GTX smart cameras boast a compact footprint and robust construction. With an IP67-rated housing and sturdy M12 connectors for external interfaces, they can operate reliably in harsh conditions, including dusty and wet settings. To further enhance performance, these smart cameras accept standard C-mount lenses protected by a dust- and liquid-proof cap. Additionally, they feature an interface to a Corning® Varioptic® C-C-Series auto-focus lens, allowing for focus adjustments within the on-device software. The Zebra Iris GTX also provides an LED lighting intensity control output, compatible with Advanced Illumination Inline Control System (ICS) 3 lighting control and Smart Vision Lights brick spotlights, enabling direct adjustments within the on-device software. This eliminates the need for manual intervention, particularly in hard-to-reach places.

The Zebra Iris GTX smart cameras boast real-time digital I/Os, managed by dedicated hardware engines, ensuring precise and reliable performance. These I/O engines allow for output events to occur at specific moments, after defined elapsed times, or in response to specific input events. The cameras can accept input events from various sources, including incremental rotary encoders or input counts. Programmed output events are stored in a hardware list, which is then executed based on a clock or input event. This mechanism results in state transitions, pulses, or pulse trains on specific outputs. The presence of multiple hardware timers, which can be cascaded, facilitates counting or generating specific events.

In addition, the Zebra Iris GTX features a hardware-assisted mechanism for PROFINET communication, ensuring timely response even with short cycle times or a busy processor handling other tasks. This feature enhances overall performance and reliability in demanding industrial settings. Embrace the power of machine vision and deep learning with the Zebra Iris GTX smart camera—the ultimate solution for quick and accurate industrial vision applications.
