GigE Vision® supports significantly more flexible camera installations. But specially tuned accessory components are also needed to deliver a high performance and simple installation. This requires an industrial design which is simple to fit, as well as support for Jumbo Frame to minimize the load on the CPU.
For example, with robotics applications the cables are exposed to high loads, and so regularly need to be replaced. Any reduction in the number of cables by combining data and power supply using PoE significantly simplifies the system design.
