About the Opportunity
We are currently looking for a FAE (Field Application Engineer) to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis. This is a role which is to be based in our head office in Mississauga, Ontario as well as work from home. There will be regular travel (25%, mostly domestic) supporting sales and clients across the globe.
As our new FAE, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Meeting with sales and customers to gain a complete understanding of requirements
Collaborating with the sales team, engineering team, and suppliers for product selection and solution creation
Preparing technical elements of the proposal, including defining the technical solution
Troubleshooting issues on customer’s requests both over the phone and in the field
Working with the sales team, preparing relevant technical information for product and solution presentations
Achieving sales targets both individually and as part of a team
Traveling with sales team to meet prospective and key customers to strengthen relationships and further business opportunities
Conducting demonstrations of products and services, and supporting the sales team in organizing the presentation
Coordinating with the sales and marketing team, engineering team, and management team for designing systems, and formulating the product specification as per the customer’s needs
Participating in seminars, conferences, trade shows and meetings for learning as well as promotion of our company
Selecting lead follow-up and proposal generation
Acting as a “resident expert” and first point of contact for technical support of key product lines
More About You
To qualify, you will need at least 3 years of experience in a similar role in technical sales or proposal writing, preferably as a field application engineeror sales engineer. A post-secondary degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Mechatronic Engineering is an asset, but not required. Experience in video processing, machine vision, embedded/ruggedized computing, or technology sales is highly preferred for this role.
Since the role requires occasional travel to and from our offices and various client sites, a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record are required.
